ABOUT THE ARTWORK
'So Without' is a twin artwork to 'As Within'.
As Within and So Without are a paired exploration of reflection, polarity, and hidden symmetry.
Both works centre on oak trees, each marked by a distinct feature: one with a hollow opening at its core, the other with a stump emerging outward.
Just before creating these drawings, two symbols from my high school years resurfaced in my mind. They were glyphs I had once invented without knowing their meaning. Only after naming the pieces As Within and So Without did I realise how deeply this mirrored the Hermetic principle found in the Emerald Tablet:
“As above, so below. As within, so without.”
These works are meditations on that truth, the inner and outer reflecting one another, just as the micro echoes the macro, and the personal connects with the universal.
Delivery
The artwork is carefully and beautifully wrapped and packaged by the artist and shipped from the United Kingdom.
Included in your order will be:

The greatest care is taken to package your artwork so that it is well protected for international transit. It will be packaged flat in a thick and sturdy box with lots of padding. The artwork itself is placed on a backing board inside a cellophane sleeve and then wrapped in paper. All packaging and art materials are as natural as could be achieved and are biodegradable.
